Dr. José M. Sánchez is Professor of Production and Operations Management; Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Graduate School of Engineering at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM). He served as a Senior Research Scientist in CIM Systems, Inc. in Richardson, Texas working on several Small Business Innovative Research projects for the U.S. Army Tank Command; Norton AFB and the U.S. Navy. These programs were focused on the development of intelligent manufacturing systems for producibility of metal parts and electronic systems. Dr. Sánchez has several publications in The Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, The Journal of Integrated Computer-Aided Engineering, The Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and the International Journal of Expert Systems with Applications. He is co-author of the books "Product Development Design for Manufacturing: A Collaborative Approach to Producibility and Reliability" (Marcel & Dekker, 2001, www.amazon.com, ISBN: 0-8247-9935-6) and "Handbook of Life Cycle Engineering: Tools and Technologies" (Kluwer Academic Publishers, 1999; www.amazon.com, ISBN: 0 412 81250 9). Dr. Sanchez received his doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering in 1988 from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is currently the director of the International Applied Logistics Center of ITESM Monterrey Campus.
