Ramírez-Camacho, Vania

Overview

Vania Ramírez-Camacho is currently serving as the Associate Chair of the Regional Department of Political Science and International Relations. She was the International Relations Undergraduate Program Director at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus for ten years. She holds a degree in Political Science and Comparative Development Studies from Trent University, Canada and an MA in Politics and Government in Latin America from University of Essex, United Kingdom. Mrs. Ramírez has over 21 years of academic experience. Prior to joining Tecnologico de Monterrey she worked as a consultant at Zimat Consultores, Mexico´s leading communications consulting firm. Furthermore, she participated as an Executive Liaison for Biomet Mexico. Mrs. Ramírez has wide ranging experience working in both private and public sectors. She served as an advisor to the President of the Energy Comission of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies during the LVII Legislature. One of her key areas of work is migration, return migration and different aspects of immigrant integration. Professor Ramírez collaborates with different non-governmental organizations dealing with migration: Mexicans and Americans Thinking Together, Sin Fronteras, Foro Migraciones and research centers fostering active learning and activism among students.
