Overview

Received the B.Eng. degree in Informatics from the Universidad Politécnica de Sinaloa, Mazatlán, Sinaloa, México, in 2009, the M.Sc in Information Science with honours from the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, Culiacán, Sinaloa, México, in 2013 and the Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Sheffield in Sheffield, United Kingdom, in 2019. I am currently working as a professor at the ITESM campus Monterrey in the area of Data Science and Applied Mathematics, Machine Learning. I have worked in the areas of technical support, web development and embedded systems. My main interest is in the runtime analysis of evolutionary algorithms and diversity-preserving mechanisms. I am interested in randomised algorithms, algorithmic analysis, multimodal, multiobjective and combinatorial optimisation, and decision support. My main expertise is the analysis of randomised search heuristics such as evolutionary algorithms and its use as a tool for multi-criteria decision aid and software development/programming.
