Ramírez-Orozco, Aldo Iván

Overview

Dr. Aldo Iván Ramírez Orozco is a Civil Engineer. He holds a Master's degree in Hydraulic Engineering Master and a PhD in Hydrology. His professional experience includes various positions in the Government of Michoacán, the Mexican Institute for Water Technology; and the Water Research Center in Queretaro. Aldo Ramirez has more than 30 years of teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and in continuing education. He has been advisor of 26 master's theses and four doctoral works. He has written and supervised more than 200 technical reports. It has 102 publications in refereed journals and in national and international conferences and has given 51 lectures by invitation. He is the author of five books, twelve book chapters and has edited three technical works. It also has two technological developments. Currently he is a professor of the Departmente of Sustainable Technologies and Civil, colaborator of the Strategic Focus Group on Water Science and Technology and the Water Center for Latin America and the Caribbean of Tecnológico de Monterrey. He was the founder Director of the Strategic Decision Core (Núcleo Estratégico de Decisiones). In 2010 he was awarded the Enzo Levi National Award in Hydraulic Research. Dr. Ramirez is member of the Committee for the Monitoring and Evaluation of the Drought National Programme, counselor of the Technical Council of Geology and Hydrometeorology of Nuevo Leon and member of the National Committee on Large Dams. He is a National Researcher Level 1 of CONACYT and the National Coordinator of the International Flood Initiative within the Mexican Committee for the International Hydrological Programme of UNESCO among other. From 2017 to 2019 he was appotinted Vicepresident of AMICA (Mexican Association on Engineering, Science and Environmental Management)
