6369 - Enhancing Customers' Satisfaction in School Bus Service Via Goal Programming and Factor Analysis Academic Article in Scopus uri icon

abstract

  • This paper presents an approach to improve school bus transportation services by integrating customer satisfaction and modifying transportation schedules. The study uses the regression tree to identify key factors that influence user satisfaction. The central methodology used is weighted goal programming, which allows for an adequate and flexible balance of multiple goals, improved service quality, and alignment with operational constraints. Critical performance indicators such as punctuality, reliability, seat availability, and safety are analyzed using surveys and operational metrics data. The model provides a decision-making framework for transportation service managers with solutions that prioritize user satisfaction while maintaining transportation schedules and improving service quality subject to budgetary and operational constraints. © 2025 IISE Annual Conference and Expo 2025, Conference Proceedings.
