abstract
The circular economy is a sustainable strategy widely used in education, industry and government systems to reduce waste generation, energy consumption and the use of raw materials. In this educational innovation research, we sought to strengthen the experience and knowledge of students by integrating a Training Partner (TP). To do this, each team of students was assigned one of the best-selling products by the TP in order to carry out a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and identify areas of opportunity to reduce the environmental impacts associated with the production of said textile garment. The results showed a more detailed analysis of the LCA and an accurate collection of data on the environmental impact, considering from the obtaining of raw materials and transportation to the production process. Likewise, opportunities for improvement in terms of sustainability were identified. It is concluded that the link with a company and the approach to a real problem, such as fast fashion, contributed to raising awareness among students, encouraging the development of new textile prototypes with less environmental impact in terms of water consumption, virgin raw materials and energy. © 2025, Asociacion Espanola de Direccion e Ingenieria de Proyectos (AEIPRO).
