This paper presents the results of a research that has as main purpose to analyze the ICT competences of the teachers in the disciplinary area of business and accountancy in Mexican higher education. The study was drawn up with an exploratory descriptive scope and with a joint approach for the implementation of gathering techniques and the data analysis. The results reveal the teachers' basic competences and the factors that determine the incorporation of those technologies to their teaching practices. Finally, as a strategy to improve the teachers' performance for what regards to the use of ICT, the authors point out the need for them to be trained to the collaborative incorporation of open educational resources in the design and implementation of educational activities.
