Abstract

  • The objective of this study was to determine if problem-based learning in secondary school chemistry favors the development of critical thinking. A mixed method with a quasi-experimental design was used with a experimental group and a control group. The instruments were the critical thinking section of the Individual Generic Skills Test, and a semi-structured focus interview on critical thinking. The results indicated that such a methodology promotes the skills of evaluation and self-regulation.
