This paper is about fault detection and isolation for systems modeled with continuous timed PNs (TCPNs). Abrupt faults and drifts are considered as variations of the TCPN firing parameters. The main contribution is to design and use an observer scheme in order to generate residuals useful for fault detection and isolation issues. A sensor selection method is used to select the places to be observed. The conditions that ensure the sensitivity of the residuals with respect to the faults are established.
