The electric arcs are highly nonlinear and chaotic; a power theory for non-sinusoidal voltages and currents is needed for the analysis of the EAFs. The Current's Physicals Components (CPC) power theory allows an advanced engineering analysis of the energy transfer at arc furnaces since each one of the current components can be used as performance indicators to improve EAFs power control.
