abstract

  • © 2018 IEEE.Interleaved dc-dc converters are widely used in applications like power source for microprocessor and renewable energy applications, one of their main advantages is the possibility to cancel a percentage of the input current ripple, in the case of a boost converter, or in the output current ripple, in the case of a buck converter, the current ripple is caused by the switching action of transistors. Depending on the operating point of the converter, the total current ripple can be zero. Interleaving topologies are made with converters of the same type. This paper explores the alternative of interleaving unequal topologies, specifically the Boost and Cuk, the objective is to develop an interleaving boosting topology to further reduce the total input current ripple. Experimental results are provided to verify the theoretical analysis and prof the principle of operation.
