It is a highly contagious disease that has a predilection for skin keratinocytes and its entry pathway tends to be areas exposed through microtrauma or abrasions. Males who have sex with males and immunocom-promised patients are the groups that have the greatest predisposition to infection by human papillomavirus. The diagnosis of lesions is clinical for the most part and there is currently no consensus on treatment for those lesions for the entire population. At present, there are different management options, whose indications depend on the experience of the physician, patient preference, and treatment availability, among others.
