All Rights Reserved.The Fourth Industrial Revolution, also known as Industry 4.0 (I4.0) is impacting the way things are being managed in companies and organizations. It has been recognized that first world countries are facing this new way of performing by implementing strategies focused on the use of advanced technologies and digitization involved in I4.0. The objective of this paper is to provide a Systematic Literature Review about the I4.0 adoption in Latin American countries, by offering answers to two research questions that are stipulated related to the challenges and opportunities of this digital era. After developing the review, it was possible to recognize that from Latin America, few countries are investigating and writing about I4.0. It exists a great opportunity for Latin American countries to conveniently join forces for research, as well as to carry out a benchmark with industrialized countries to prioritize what is necessary during the path of I4.0 adoption. These actions will consequently aid to generate models for the successful adoption of I4.0 and the creation of smart countries.
