- © 2021 ACM.The new educational paradigm that emerges from the accelerated development of communication technologies, in short, has marked new patterns in the teaching-learning process. One of the most substantial changes in the rapid and necessary incorporation of the various educational actors to the latest technologies. The present work shows a teaching intervention based on challenges, using IoT with engineering students to involve students during their remote learning process. This qualitative proposal demonstrates an increase in the interest of students when participating in challenges designed in IoT through a design-based research methodology and content analysis. Remote active learning based on IoT challenges demonstrated sustained student interest while studying from home and helped achieve the proposed design's learning objectives, namely, integrating all IoT solutions' technological elements.
