- Vision enables full sensory interaction with the environment, comprehension of its complexity and thoroughly informed decision-making. Thus sight is often considered the most important of the senses. In the simplest description, the human eye is a system composed of two optical lenses¿the cornea and the crystalline lens¿and a screen, the retina, on which images from the lenses are formed.
