  • © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Società Italiana di Fisica and Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.Presently, neutron science applications have been increasing in different knowledge areas, for that reason, it is important to improve the radiation protection protocols, in where the neutrons are present, to avoid the risk and damage to people¿s health, in that sense, it is important to know the spectrum of neutrons in interest areas to determine the H*(10), D and E. To determine the spectrum of neutrons, present in an interesting area, the Bonner Sphere Spectrometer (BSS) is the most used currently. With the aim to propose a new neutron spectrometer, the response functions of a Nested Bonner Cubes Spectrometer were calculated by MCNP 5C, using a gold activation foil as a thermal neutron detector. The response functions were calculated for cubes with 0-, 2-, 3-, 5-, 8-, 10- and 12-inch edges made of 0.92 g/cm3 polyethylene, using 66 groups of energy in a range of 10¿9 to 20 MeV. The Bonner Cube¿s response matrix was compared with responses reported for BSS by other authors.
