abstract

  • We solved the problem of generation of an electromagnetic field during the scattering of an acoustic wave on a porous rigid sphere saturated by an electrolyte. We considered the problem for the case when the cause of the appearance of the electromagnetic field is the displacement of double electric layers arising at the boundary of the grains of the solid phase and the electrolyte (the streaming current). The solution was obtained by using the electrokinetic equations for porous media. For the solution of the equations of electrodynamics, we used the quasi-static approach. We considered the problems of scattering of harmonic waves and acoustic impulses. The influences of the acoustic parameters of the fluid in the pores and the parameters that describe the pore space of the inclusion on the amplitude of the excited electromagnetic field were analyzed. It was shown that the axisymmetric (zero order) mode of oscillations mainly contributes to the electromagnetic field generation.
