abstract
- Digital culture influences the reading experience of social network users. This paper analyses the reading experience of hundreds of users of the social network Goodreads by using Natural Language Processing techniques with R programming applied to the book reviews by the Mexican writer Fernanda Melchor. Directly and inversely frequent words were identified, as were emotions linked to the reviews and the most relevant lexemes and verbs, and a classification of topics was performed as well. The results show how readers reflect, in a personal way, on social aspects, such as violence or poverty, giving continuity to the themes addressed by the author herself. © 2024 Centro de Estudios de Promoción de la Lectura y Literatura Infantil, Universidad de Castilla-La Manc.
