- This collection of new work represents a range of emerging perspectives and leading ideas in systems approaches to service design that are reflective of the evolving area of systemic service design. We observe the convergence points of two design perspectives ¿ systemic design and service design ¿ that have only recently started to find common methods and practice. In this collection, we have aimed to curate a number of contemporary contributions that can enrich both practices and perspectives. While academic investigations are driving the learning and evolution of theories and tools between these communities, we believe this book will also be helpful to advanced practitioners to understand the complexity of the sociotechnical systems and human-centred services in the world for which we are designing, in all its evolving complexity. © 2025 selection and editorial matter, Mari Suoheimo, Peter Jones, Sheng-Hung Lee and Birger Sevaldson; individual chapters, the contributors.
