- In recent years, renewable energy research has gained attention because the trend worldwide is to promote decarbonized technologies in order to reduce the effect of environmental problems such as climate change and increasing greenhouse gas emissions. In this respect, solar photovoltaic systems could be an interesting alternative. However, prior to being established, it needs to evaluate the performance of the solar photovoltaic systems, which can be associated with multi-objective problems in different stages for the systems. Therefore, this chapter presents a systematic literature review focused on solar photovoltaic systems considering several decision variables as objective. In this chapter, the main criteria as well as the main solution algorithm can be identified. In addition, objectives for the different stages of solar photovoltaic system design are discussed. © 2023 AIP Publishing LLC. All rights reserved.
