Fractional Approach to the Study of the Green¿s Function for Some Relevant Time-Space Partial Differential Equation of Mathematical Physics Chapter in Scopus uri icon

abstract

  • Using integral transform methods, we solve time-space fractional partial differential equations corresponding to fractional extensions of the wave, damped wave, and Klein-Gordon equations with a Dirac delta impulse as external source. The fractional equations are obtained by replacing the conventional time and space derivative operators with Caputo fractional derivative and Riesz¿s pseudo-differential operators, respectively. The solutions correspond to the Green¿s functions of the fractional versions of these equations and are given in the first case in terms of the H-Fox function and as infinite series representations involving this function in the second and third cases. Numerical calculations are performed to obtain graphical representations of the solutions.
