- This paper introduces an approach for creating Metaverse-based software robot (softbot) tutors to train and support impaired Operators 5.0 in emerging Industry 5.0 working environments following the trend of developing more human-centric and inclusive industrial workplaces. It presents a summarized literature review on inclusive softbot tutors in the Metaverse for training impaired operators as well as introduces a reference architecture for their creation for specific training and assisting situations. The architecture was implemented as a proof-of-concept prototype. Three small industrial scenarios were devised to simulate impaired Operators 5.0 in some maintenance training situations to showcase the proposed Metaverse-based softbot tutor approach towards more inclusive industrial workplaces. © 2023, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.
