Canizo,Jesica Romina
Overview
Dr. Jesica Romina Canizo is a researcher and Biotechnology professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Guadalajara, with a career spanning over 15 years dedicated to the forefront of reproductive biotechnology and developmental biology. Her profile is distinguished by vast technical experience in the culture of embryos from multiple species (mouse, bovine, guinea pig, and human) and a mastery of small-molecule modulation protocols. Her specialization lies in high-precision molecular characterization. Dr. Canizo has integrated state-of-the-art methodologies, such as single-cell RNA sequencing (sc-RNAseq) and single-molecule fluorescence in situ hybridization (sm-FISH), to elucidate critical mechanisms of lineage segregation and transcriptional dynamics. In the field of pluripotency and stem cells, she possesses expertise in the derivation of embryonic stem cells and somatic reprogramming for the generation of iPSCs. In parallel, she leads research lines in DOHaD (Developmental Origins of Health and Disease), where she analyzes the impact of environmental and preconceptual factors on embryonic competence and fertility. Her ability to integrate basic research with industrial applications, consolidated during her tenure at the University of Montreal (CRCHUM), enables her to optimize cell isolation and high-precision genetic screening protocols, contributing directly to the efficiency of assisted reproductive technologies.
