Barcena-Mapi, Paula Paola

Overview

She is currently a full-time professor and coordinator of C+Lab (Laboratory of Cities) of the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the Tecnológico de Monterrey for the Central-South Region. She leads transformation projects in the city aimed at facing the challenges of urbanization to enable regenerative processes in the territory to achieve healthy, just, and resilient cities. She has experience in the public sector as Deputy Director of Control in the Directorate of Urban Development Administration, and Deputy Director of Urban Planning of the Secretariat of Urban Development and Public Works of the State of Querétaro, Mexico. In the private sphere, she is a founding partner of the Taller MX office, a creative architecture, urban planning, design, and social participation office. She has carried out urban consulting projects, municipal regulations, territorial planning, and urban design. Participated in the Consultative Council of the Q500 strategy prepared by UN-Habitat in Querétaro and served as Project Manager of the Querétaro Creative Council during the city's candidacy for the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, achieving the appointment. European Master in Urbanism, Strategies and Design for Cities and Territories from the Delft University of Technology, in the Netherlands. Architect by the Tecnológico de Monterrey.
