Victor Rayas received the Bachelor Degree with Honours of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) in 2010 from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Morelia campus and a PhD in Industrial Engineering in 2014 from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Toluca campus. His doctoral thesis is a Markov decision model for the analysis of outsourcing in a closed-loop supply chain for hazardous materials.
In 2012, during his doctoral research stay, he was a professor at the Andrés Bello University in Chile, teaching the Simulation and Distribution Systems courses. From 2014 to 2018 he was a full-time professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Santa Fe campus. He is member of the academic committee for the elaboration of reagents for the CENEVAL EGEL-IINDU exam. He has participated in Semester i and related projects with Colgate, Bohn, Chassix and Flex, as well as leading research projects with undergraduate students in conjunction with companies such as Heineken and Coppel, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Since 2018 he has been the Director of the ISE Program at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Guadalajara campus, where he has actively collaborated in the implementation of the Tec21 Model, being regional coordinator of Block F1001b and designing subjects of the focus stage of the ISE program.
His research interests include: Logistics, decision-making processes, optimization, simulation and modeling of stochastic problems. He is co-author of the e-book "Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Creating value networks in Mexico and Latin America "published by the digital publisher of Tecnológico de Monterrey and has published several articles in indexed scientific journals.
