Music-producer and Audio Engineer
Kenji Calderon-Miyamotoes is a musician-producer and audio engineer with a solid academic background. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Music from the Universidad de Las Américas Puebla. In 2008, his work at Star Track Studio Recording was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award, early highlighting his professional talent. As a Fulbright and FONCA scholar, he completed a Master's in Musical Technology at New York University and a Doctorate in Contemporary Art Cartographies at the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL).
As a professional, he has worked as a sound editor for feature films in New York, with works projected at prestigious international festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Sarasota Film Festival, BAM Cinema Fest, Toronto Film Festival, and the Morelia International Film Festival. In 2010, he served as an audio associate at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada.
His musical training includes composition studies with renowned masters such as Brian Banks, Robert Rowe, Joel Chadabe, Tom Beyer, and John Gilbert. In audio engineering, he has been instructed by Paul Geluso, Roberto de Elías, John Dunkerley, Shawn Everett, and Akira Fukada. Complementarily, he has developed his artistic perspective under the guidance of Jorge Juanes, Sonia Rangel, Wendolín Ríos, and Jonathan Caudillo.
