Pérez-Segura, Eric

Overview

He studied Music Composition at the Superior School of Music and the Master degree in Music Technology at the National School of Music, both in Mexico City. He has participated in several courses and festivals in Mexico and abroad. He was invited to the 2nd. Takefu International Music Festival in 2002, and was given the 2nd. prize at the 1st. International Composition Competition for Symphonic Orchestra in France in 2004, organized by the European Festivals of Youth Orchestras (Eurochestries). He was granted a scholarship as a young composer by FONCA in 2007. In 2012 he became full-time professor for the IMI program at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Santa Fe. He was the artistic and executive producer of his two albums Lluvia de Cristales(2009) and Ars Involvendis(2015). Since 2015 he coordinates the organization of the Electroacoustic Music Festival Ecos Urbanos, and since 2017 he is the program director of IMI at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Estado de México

In 2023, he was General Chair of NIME (the International Conference on New Interfaces of Musical Expression) hosted in Mexico City and co-organized by UAM and Tecnológico de Monterrey
