Estrada-Centelles, Gabriela

Overview

Mtra. Gabriela Estrada Centelles has 19 years of experience in upper secondary and higher education as a bilingual teacher, academic leader in student projects and in academic strategic planning in different educational institutions. She currently collaborates as Associate Dean of Development of the Faculty of the School of Humanities and Education. Until November 2018, she was National Director of Projects of the Campus Vice-rector of the Tecmilenio University, where she coordinated the first phase of integration of the 4 campuses of the Monterrey Metropolitan area. Prior to that responsibility, from 2015 to 2017 he was in charge of the National Deployment Directorate of the Vice-rectory of Preparatory in the same institution, attending to the academic and student experience needs of the 28 High Schools of the system. Additionally, from 2014 to 2015 she was academic director of the Central-South Zone of the TecMilenio University. She has a degree in International Relations (2000), a master's degree in Political Analysis and Information Media from the Tecnológico de Monterrey and has studies in Political Science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. She was awarded the Fulbright-García Robles Scholarship from the Mexico-United States Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (COMEXUS) as a Scholar-In-Residence where she served as a teacher and lecturer at various American universities. During her stay in the United States, she was a lecturer on various topics concerning Mexico and Latin America in three higher education centers (Bellevue College, Bluefield College and Shoreline Community College) and was a tenured professor of the subject Crossing Borders: History, Culture, and Current Events focused on relations between the United States and Latin America. She participated as a member of the editorial board of the General Exam for the Graduate Degree (EGEL) of Political Science of the National Center for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CENEVAL) in 2013. She was also a fellow of the Phoenix Institute where she held the seminar "Relativism and the New Millennium: Cultural Revival in a Modern / Postmodern World "(2000) at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom At the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, she was the career director of the Bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Information Media and Political Science at Campus Ciudad de México (2011-2014). Mtra. Estrada was a full-time professor at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Studies, Mexico City Campus from 2002 to 2014 participating in chairs of International Programs, Preparatory Division and School of Humanities and Social Sciences; She has been classified as Assistant Professor since 2005. She is a certified teacher by the International Baccalaureate Organization and has international training (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and the United States). In addition, he coordinated the Campus Model United Nations (MEXMUN) for seven years and was part of the coordination of the Simulation Model of the Union Congress for eight years. As a result of these academic projects, she was an advisor to the International Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies in the PARLAMUN 2005 project in the LIX Legislature. She was also part of the Academic Senate of the Rectory of the South Zone of Mexico City (2008-2009). She has made academic trips as a tutor and academic leader of groups of Mexican students to different cities in the United States, Chile, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.
