Overview
Laura Esmeralda Guzmán-Rodríguez holds a PhD. in Business Competitiveness and Economic Development by University of Deusto, Spain, She has been awarded with Cum Laude due to her thesis due to its contribution to scientific and managerial domain regarding multicultural team innovation. Previous studies on Master in Research at SKEMA Business School , France. She received her Bachelor Degree in Public Management Accounting and a master degree in Business Administration both from Tec de Monterrey.
She has participated as researcher in Knowledge Management, Innovation , Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Research group in Deusto Business School and as a teaching assistant professor in International Human Resources Management courses at same school.
She has participated as evaluator of research manuscripts in several International Commitees such as IGI Global Publisher, Asociación Científica de Economía y Dirección de Empresas (Spain), Congreso Internacional de Innovación Educativa (Mexico).
She has been lecturer in international research congress in France and Spain like International Research in Science and Technology ¿ European Parlament, Strasburg, Frace and Coloquio de Investigación CERALE- ESCP Business School ¿ EGADE Buiness School, Mexico
Her main research works are topics are focused on International Resources Management, Global Talent, Team Innovation Performance, Strategic Planning, Management Control System and Conscious Business, among others.
Some research papers she is actually is working are regarding: a)Team member's individual characteristics and their impact on multicultural team performance: Analysis of transformational leadership, international experience, cultural sensitivity and team adjustment; b) Team factors and their impact on team performance: Analysis of cultural orientation, team cohesion, effective communication, relationship conflict and team trust; and c) Analysis of transformational leadership, cultural orientation and relationship conflict and their impact on multicultural team innovation.
Co-author in Book Chapter called Influence of transformational leadership, cultural orientation and affective conflict in multicultural team's innovation process (accepted by IGI Global Publisher 2020).
She is currently, a full time professor at Management and Leadership Department at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Also, she usually participates in projects with colleagues from other departments like Entrepreneurship, Finances and Accounting in Campus Monterrey and others campuses.
She has been a pioneer professor in designing and implementing Tec21 Academic Model She usually participates in several projects related to educational innovation such as semester i, Week I program
Aligned to her academic and research responsibilities, she also has been working in consultancy projects related to Design and Balanced Score Card implementation and design in order to evaluate organizational performance and strategic decision process, developing of pricing strategies, as part of a cross-multidiscipline team, in order to reactive to strategic and allowing a continuous product analysis, Implementing strategic management tool that analyzes periodic results at strategic areas in business according to improve decision making process.
Also, she has been advisor in Chamber of Commerce in San Sebastián ¿ Spain regarding Expatriate employees training programs for living abroad focuses on pre-departing, cultural shock and intercultural adjustment.
Companies she has been working as consultan advisor are: CEMEX, Bimbo, Gamesa, Grupo Alfa, Terza, Aider Bouché - Especialistas Dentales, Femsa, among others.
