Margain-Salvador, Jennifer
Overview
I studied Journalism and Communication at the Autonomous University of Querétaro (2006) and completed a master's degree in Documentary Film at the University of the Arts London (2012). My master's thesis was selected for programming on Community Channel in the United Kingdom.
I am currently a professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Querétaro in the Media and Digital Culture Department, teaching subjects such as Audiovisual Production, Screenwriting, Convergent Journalism, Documentary Film, among others. I have participated in academic committees for the design and transfer of subjects related to audiovisual production. In 2023, I joined the Circle of Distinguished Professors program at the School of Humanities and Education.
I have experience as a producer and editor of audiovisual projects, mainly in documentaries and non-fiction narratives. I was a facilitator in Querétaro and Tlaxcala for the Audiovisual Poles program, Community Training of the IMCINE. I have worked as a producer and announcer for radio programs and podcasts on local cultural radio stations.
I have participated in, designed, and coordinated social development projects in the areas of communication and education, especially aimed at women and vulnerable populations. I also advise and develop documentary projects independently.
I am co-director of DOQUMENTA International Film and Non-Fiction Narratives Festival in Querétaro and have been an active member of the same civil association since 2014, committed to the dissemination of documentary cinema. Here, I focus on organizing and creating training spaces for decentralized audiovisual production and conversation and exchanges on LGBTQ+ thematic programming, gender perspective, indigenous peoples, and festival sustainability.
