Vázquez-de la Mora, María José
Overview
María José holds a degree in Communication Sciences from Tecnológico de Monterrey and a Master's degree in Comparative Literature: literary and cultural studies from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Modern Literature from the Universidad Iberoamericana. From 2014 to 2020, she was the director of the Communication and Digital Media Program at campus Querétaro, and since 2021 she has been the National director of the Communication program. She has been part of the Career Academic Aspects Team (EAAC) for the curricular design of the Bachelor's degree in Communication since 2017 and is currently leading the redesign process of the LC26 academic plan. She received her teaching classification at the associate level in May 2024.
She participated in the NOVUS project "Ubiquitous and alternate reality games to promote transversal competences and motivate learning 2018 - 2019" shortlisted in the QS Reimagine Education competition with the presentation Story and Play: Designing Alternate Reality Games to Promote Reading and Cross-curriculum Competencies in 2018 in San Francisco, California. She was also responsible for the project "Mapping and recognition of reading and writing skills associated with the assimilation of aesthetic texts in Communication students" of the Novus 2021 generation from January 2022 to June 2023.
She has been a speaker at national and international conferences including, among others, the Transmedia Literacy International Conference at the Pompeu Fabra University and the 1st International Conference on Feminist Genealogies of Comics at the Complutense University in Spain and the IDEA21 Seminar Congress at the Universidad del Desarrollo in Chile, as well as the 14th International Conference From Orality to Children's and Young Adult Literature: Memories of Ibero-America organized by the Department of Letters of the Universidad Iberoamericana, the Institute of Philological Research, Universo de Letras, and the José Emilio Pacheco Extraordinary Chair of Reading at UNAM.
She was part of the team of the project Interface to the Future, winner of one of the Creative Fund production grants of the Laboratorio Arte AC in 2024 with a multidisciplinary proposal that fuses art, science and technology to address issues such as climate change, the city and heritage through elements such as air and water in the Querétaro.
