Luna-Villarreal, Kevin

Overview

Kevin Luna Villarreal, a Civil Engineer from the Instituto Tecnológico de Durango since 1999, furthered his education by obtaining a Master's in Science in Construction Project Administration from ITESM Campus Monterrey in 2002. Later, he earned his PhD in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning from the Universitat Politecnica de Valencia in 2017. Joining the Tecnologico de Monterrey in August 2003, Kevin has steadily progressed in his career, currently serving as the Director of Innovation and Transformation Engineering (IIT) and the Built Environment (AMC) programs. In addition to his academic roles, Kevin is an accomplished author, contributing to the digital publication "Costs and Work Schedule" by ITESM. His extensive expertise extends to consultancy, where he has been a valuable advisor at the Design and Construction Center of Tecnologico de Monterrey since 2003, focusing on quality and productivity in the housing sector. Notably, he played a pivotal role in co-designing the 3CV+ quality model applied in over 30 housing companies across Guadalajara, Monterrey, and the Laguna region. Kevin's commitment to education is evident through his teaching portfolio, including multi-campus courses in Project Management, Construction Company Management, Cost Management, Exploration of Habitat in the Built Environment, Real Estate Projects, and Costs and Work Scheduling. Serving as the Coordinator of the Concentration in Real Estate Intelligence, he also represents ITESM in the CENEVAL for the EGEL IC+. For the past 15 years, Kevin has been instrumental in coordinating the planning seminar for construction companies, a crucial component of the certificate in the ITESM Virtual University construction administration. In 2019, he ventured into the innovation and performance seminar of the same certificate in its version 2.0. Currently a full-time professor in the Department of Sustainable and Civil Technologies, Kevin leads the work team of the concentration in real estate intelligence for the Civil Engineering career under the TEC21 curriculum. His responsibilities include coordination, design, and teaching across various courses, such as integrating projects in the built environment and cost management. Since August 2023, Kevin has been a technical advisor member of the CENEVAL at the EGEL IC, showcasing his dedication to advancing assessment standards.
