M.F.A. René Rodríguez Botello.
Filmmaker / writer / producer/ composer.
Graduated with honors as a Master of Fine Arts in Filmmaking, at New York Film Academy, in Los Angeles, California.
He's the founder of Vorticinéma, a Mexican production company which has produced short films that have been awarded at international festivals like Ismailia Film Festival (Egypt), Court-Metránge (France), Jim Thorpe Independent FIlm Festival, and deadCenter Film Festival (U.S.A.),and Shorts Mexico (Mexico), among others. Some of his work has been distributed by international distribution companies like Promofest and Filmhub, and is available in digital platforms like Vimeo and Amazon Prime. Vorticinéma's mission, is the creation of dialogue and meaning, by the multidisciplinary approach to the creative arts, by creating narrative avant-garde media that is also culturally relevant.
René is also a musician and composer, member of the Mexican band BAM BAM, distributed by record label Arts & Crafts México. As a member of this project, he has played international venues and festivals such as SXSW (U.S.A.), Nrmal, Corona Capital and Vive Latino (Mexico). This project has also received national acclaim at the "Indie-O Awards" and with the Mexican press.
He's currently teaching the class "Administración y Evaluación de Proyectos" at Tec de Monterrey, and is involved in the Philosophy, Art and Culture Magazine, as a member of the editorial committee at Campus Monterrey.
