González-Romo de Vivar, Francisco

Overview

Francisco González Romo de Vivar is an Assistant Professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Hidalgo. In 2024, he was recognized within the Círculo de Profesores Destacados of the School of Humanities and Education (EHE). He holds a Ph.D. in Art History and a Master's degree in Modern and Contemporary Art from Centro de Cultura Casa Lamm, as well as a B.A. in Communication Sciences from Universidad La Salle. His career combines research, creative practice, and academic leadership. His areas of work explore the intersections of art, cinema, philosophy, and technology, with a focus on visual culture, affect theory, and transdisciplinary approaches. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and has represented Tecnológico de Monterrey at international conferences on educational innovation, including the Conference on Global Learning (AAC&U, Washington D.C.) and the Global Virtual Exchange Summit (Hong Kong Baptist University). He has led COIL projects with universities in the United States and Latin America, including Trash to Art. He also coordinates Los sonidos de Pachuca, a project focused on urban identity through soundscape exploration and artificial intelligence. Before entering academia, he worked for a decade as an independent strategic communication consultant, with experience in corporate social responsibility and gender equity initiatives. His profile integrates collaborative leadership, critical thinking, content development, budget management, and external partnerships. He currently serves on the Organizing Committee of the Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes del Tec, Equipo de Aspectos Académicos of the Communications program, and coordinates the cultural programming of the Open-Air Cinema Series at Campus Hidalgo.
