Trejo-Alarcón, Luisa María

Overview

She holds a PhD in Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she developed a biosensor in Saccharomyces cerevisiae for the detection of bioactive compounds produced by environmental bacteria. She earned her Biotechnology Engineering degree from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional and a Master of Science with a specialization in Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey. She has completed international research internships at the Joint BioEnergy Institute (UC Berkeley) and the Center for Biosustainability (DTU, Denmark). Her research interests include synthetic biology, molecular biology, biosensor design, and the discovery of new molecules with medical or biotechnological applications through genomic and metabolomic analyses.
