Estrada-Sainz, Ramiro
Overview
Dean of the School of Architecture, Art, and Design for the Mexico City Region. He holds a degree in Industrial Design, a Master's in Design and Development of New Products, and a specialization in Consumer Goods Design.
An academic at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, he specializes in design projects for experiences, heritage design, creativity and innovation, professional portfolios, and new luxury. With over 15 years of experience within the institution, he has held various leadership roles, ranging from program director to department and division head, culminating in his current role as dean of the School of Architecture, Art, and Design.
He is also the project leader of "La Tlapalería," a platform for social innovation and entrepreneurship collaborating with artisans and designers, showcasing their projects at top international fairs such as Milan, London, Berlin, New York, among others.
In the realm of educational innovation, he has been a pioneer in several influential initiatives at Tecnológico de Monterrey, including Semana i, Talleres Verticales, Semestres i, Colegiadas, Open Room, Professional Reality, and currently, the implementation of the TEC21 model.
Currently serving as a consultant for companies in the fashion, luxury, and artisanal design industries, he undertakes projects focused on discovering new applications of materials, brand treatment, and product language and communication.
Through the Advanced Design Center, he has collaborated with the Department of Industrial Design, working with over 100 companies to conduct research in the development of new products, trends, experience design, social innovation, etc. This collaboration has resulted in successful projects involving professors, students, and specialized professionals.
