Díaz-Barrón, Julieta

Overview

Julieta has a Bachelor Degree in Communication Sciences and has a M.A. in Literature at the University of Oregon, in the U.S. She has developed her professional career in academy, social organizations and the public service. At Tec de Monterrey, Ms. Díaz has held these positions: Coordinator of Collection Development at the Library (1992 ¿ 1995). Coordinator of Exchange students and International Programs (1995 ¿ 1996) and Director of the Program of Communication Sciences (1998 ¿ 2001). She was Director of the social organization: "Fundación Comunitaria Querétaro" (2001 ¿ 2006). At the State Government of Querétaro she held these state-wide positions: Director of Tourist Culture (2006 ¿ 2009). Director of Regional Development (2009 - 2012) and Director of Community Development (2012 - 2015). In these positions, she oversaw tenths of collaborators to create and organize several programs and initiatives with a strong impact in public policy and social development. Ms. Díaz has been a teacher since 1992, in topics related to Communications and the Humanities. She received the recognition as best evaluated teacher and for two consecutive years has been selected as part of the program: "Círculo de Profesores Distinguidos". She has also published chapters in the books: "Por qué escribo" (2017); "Nuevas instrucciones para vivir en México" (2019) and "Una vida en el arte" (2021). Ms. Díaz is now the Director of the Regional Department of Media and Digital Culture at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Central - South Region and a consultant in areas such as Communication and Storytelling. She is now developing a Novus Project about research in text comprehension in Communication students and is member of the National Integrity Comittee.
