Rubio-Cisneros, Igor Ishi

Igor Ishi Rubio Cisneros holds a PhD in Geosciences. He graduated with honors from Universidad Autónoma Nuevo León (UANL) in 2012. He also holds a degree in Geological Engineering from the Facultad de Ciencias de la Tierra (UANL, 2008) and the Georg-August-Universität in Göttingen (2006-2007), with a scholarship from the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst). Igor is Associate Dean of Research at the Tecnologico de Monterrey (2024) and Visiting Researcher in the Centro de Estudios Parlamentarios at the UANL (2023). Rubio-Cisneros was a consultant and worked for Petroleum Geo-Services (2012-2018). He published the book Geología y Estado (UANL, 2018) and participates as a practicing investigative journalist (Excelsior, 2023-2025). Igor Rubio applies engineering to regenerative projects, medical geology, rock analysis, sedimentary basins, and coastal conservation in Yucatán. Dr. Igor served as an advisor to the Geological and Hydrometeorological Technical Council of the State of Nuevo León (2018-2025). Dr. Igor was on the list of Expert Witnesses of the Consejo de la Judicatura Federal (2019-2024) and is a candidate for the national system of Mexican researchers.
