Chávez-Cerón, Valeria

Overview

Valeria Chávez is a Civil Engineer with an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (Hydraulics) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She is currently a Full-Time Professor in the Department of Sustainable and Civil Technologies at Tecnológico de Monterrey, State of Mexico Campus. Her expertise lies in hydrodynamic modeling applied to marine systems, with a focus on sustainable coastal zone management, climate change adaptation, and ocean energy utilization. She is a founding member and board member of CEMIE-Océano, Civil Association. In recognition of her scientific contributions, she has been a member of Mexico's National System of Researchers since 2020 and currently holds the distinction of National Researcher Level I.
