Montalvo-Escamilla, Edgar

With a PhD in Business Administration with a focus on Information Systems from the Australian National University, and a Master's in Information Systems alongside a Business Administration background, he has served as an academic executive at Tecnológico de Monterrey since 1998. His roles have included HR Information Systems Coordinator, Director of the Master in International Business Program, MIS Professor, and Dean of the School of Business and Engineering. From March to July 2014, he held the position of Academic Responsable at Tecnológico de Monterrey for the Western region, overseeing 11 campuses including Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, Irapuato, León, Morelia, Obregón, San Luis, Sinaloa, Sonora Norte, Querétaro, and Zacatecas. Following this, from July 2014 to December 2017, he was the General Manager at Tec de Monterrey Campus Morelia. Throughout his professional career, he has engaged in projects related to digital marketing, service management, quality management, negotiations, and strategy. This experience has allowed him to collaborate with companies such as BBVA Mexico, Grupo Selecta, Grupo Bafar, Grupo FAME, Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS, Michoacán), MARVES de México, TECMilenio, IBM Mexico, Kellogg¿s Mexico, Cinepolis Mexico, and ArcelorMittal, among others. He has also been a visiting faculty member in the United States, Colombia, France, Chile, Peru, and China, with his research published in various business and information systems journals. Currently, he serves as the Chair of the Department for International Business at Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Guadalajara and the Western region, which includes Guadalajara, Querétaro, Puebla, Hidalgo, Saltillo, Cuernavaca, Tampico, Ciudad Obregón and Morelia. Additionally, he is an active member of the National Artificial Intelligence Committee of the School of Business at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he contributes to strategic initiatives and the integration of AI in business education.
