Ayala-Palomino, Manuel Humberto

Overview

Studies: Master in Cinematographic Art (Casa Lamm Culture Center) PhD in Educational Innovation (Tecnológico de Monterrey). Master of Science in Communication (Tecnológico de Monterrey). Bachelor of Communication Science (Tecnológico de Monterrey). He has taken film direction courses at New York Film Academy. Character creation and film language courses at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). His thesis of the Master in Communication had the theme "Analysis of the representation of the Latin character in American cinema." Teaching: Directing, Advanced cinematographic directing, and Cinematographic Production at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus. He has 26 years of teaching experience. Film experience: He worked in the direction of the short films: "La Despedida" (2014), "La Culpa" (2015), "Oye" (2016), and "En Paz Descanse" (2017), and "Misma Sangre" (2018), some of them selected in national and international festivals (ShortFilm Corner of the Cannes Festival, Latino Awards in Marbella, Spain). Activities: He frequently collaborates in the Humanities Magazine of Tecnológico de Monterrey with articles on cinema such as "When cinema and beauty met: one hundred years after María Félix's birth", and "Cinema and the gift of immortality: The 80 years by Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot. " He writes weekly the blog about film analysis "Cinema with Magnifying Glass". He is currently a member of the Promocine technical council of the State of Nuevo León, and previously of the Cineteca de Nuevo León. Offers film appreciation courses at the MARCO Museum in Monterrey, N.L. He was editorial advisor to the "Magazzine" section of the newspaper El Norte, Grupo Reforma
