Juárez-Barco, Ivone
Overview
I hold a Doctorate in Management from Case Western Reserve University, where I developed a research line focused on inspiration, leadership, emotional intelligence, and relational climate. Prior to that, I completed a Master¿s in Business Administration with a specialization in Business Strategy at Tecnológico de Monterrey, after beginning my professional path in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Monterrey Campus. I complement my academic background with certifications in International Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Innovation from Brighton University, and Creativity from the DeBono Institute, along with a deep conviction that entrepreneurship and education are among the most powerful avenues for improving people¿s lives and strengthening communities.
My experience at Tecnológico de Monterrey is broad and diverse. I have held several leadership roles in strategic areas of the Chihuahua Campus, including serving as Director of the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Program (LCDE), Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Enrollment, and Director of the Student Services Center. At the regional level, I served as Director of Academic Operations for the Northern Region, coordinating academic and operational processes across eight campuses. I also served as National Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship and Business Development Academic Committee.
For more than a decade, I led the School of Business at the Chihuahua Campus, a period during which I advanced the academic and operational evolution of the region, contributed as a designer and leader in the transformation of academic programs and curricula¿including the transition to the Tec21 model¿received distinctions as an Outstanding Faculty Member, and spearheaded innovation and outreach projects with regional impact.
I have also collaborated extensively in extension and consulting projects, delivering courses on Customer Service, Leadership, and Change Management to local, regional, and national organizations. I have advised companies¿particularly family-owned businesses¿on strategic planning processes and have participated as a member of citizen committees and governmental councils dedicated to social impact and community development.
My doctoral research, titled ¿Inspirational professors, their emotional intelligence and its role on relational climate,¿ reflects my interest in understanding and enhancing inspirational leadership. I am currently a full-time professor in the Department of Management and Leadership at the School of Business, where I integrate research, teaching, and educational innovation to contribute to the development of conscious leaders and transformative organizational cultures.
In sum, my trajectory at the Institute has allowed me to learn, innovate, and serve. I deeply enjoy working at Tecnológico de Monterrey, and my professional purpose is to coordinate efforts that enable every student, colleague, and collaborator to find in this institution a space to transform their lives, develop their potential, and fulfill their aspirations.
