Andrade-Baños, Alejandro

Overview

University professor, communications strategist, and digital media specialist with more than 16 years of experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of academic projects focused on educational innovation, audiovisual production, transmedia storytelling, and the integration of emerging technologies. I currently work as a professor in the Department of Media and Digital Culture and as the Communications Leader for the School of Humanities and Education in the Monterrey Region of Tecnológico de Monterrey. I have led institutional positioning strategies at both the national and regional levels. Over the past year, I have focused on developing the positioning strategy for the Digital Humanities Lab (Hudilab), located in the Tecnológico de Monterrey Innovation District, as well as on the design and production of content for multi-channel campaigns that connect academia with the creative industry. Currently, I have focused on strengthening my professional profile in the use of generative artificial intelligence from an ethical and creative perspective, with certifications issued by the University of Michigan. My teaching vocation has been consolidated through courses such as Photographic Techniques and Discourses, Documentary Narrative, and Screenwriting and Audiovisual Production; as well as through the coordination of academic concentrations such as Film Direction and Production and the design of training units for the Tec21 educational model, both for Tec weeks and Blocks, with "Audiovisual Narrative" being one of the most representative. Through these spaces, I promote critical thinking, digital literacy, and meaningful creation aimed at strengthening students' communication, leadership, and narrative skills from a creative, technical, and humanistic perspective. Throughout my career, I have participated in institutional projects in collaboration with organizations such as UNESCO and the OECD, as well as with audiovisual studios and production companies in both Mexico and the United States. I have also established academic relationships with universities such as the University of Southern California (USC), the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University (NYU), Columbia University, the University of Washington (WU), and Arizona State University (ASU). I am convinced of the transformative power of Digital Humanities and seek to continue contributing to the comprehensive development of the student community through initiatives that articulate technology, culture, and learning with a forward-looking vision and ethical commitment.
