Cabrera-Lazarini, Juan José
Overview
Juan José Cabrera-Lazarini is currently the Director of the Academic Delegation of Tec de Monterrey for the Midwest USA, where he has achieved a 4X increase in the internationalization of undergraduate students from 2021 to 2024, including the launch of new programs with 10 top 200 Global QS Ranking universities and internships with companies. This has improved both the quantity and quality of internationalization. Additionally, he has managed to secure research scholarships for students, primarily from the EIC, amounting to $70,000, as well as Seed Funding programs for research totaling $320,000. As a visiting research professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), his research focus is on the Value Chain, where he has published more than 10 articles with colleagues from 5 different universities and is a member of the GAT in Transdisciplinary Engineering. He has led initiatives that increased the inbound flow of students from partner universities to spend summers at Tec de Monterrey and the development of internationalization blocks. At Tec de Monterrey, Juan José has served as Regional Business Director, Department Director, and Professor at both the undergraduate and MBA levels. Previously, Juan José worked at world-class companies like Procter & Gamble as a Director in manufacturing and logistics, which allowed him to develop an extensive network as a consultant for global companies. Juan José earned his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Celaya, a Master's in Environmental Sanitation from Ghent University in Belgium, an MBA from Tec de Monterrey, and a Doctorate in Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. Juan José is proficient in English, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
