Romero-Hernández, Rocío

Overview

Rocio Romero Visual artist. Doctor with Honorary Mention by the Faculty of Arts and Design of the UNAM. She has taken several courses in drawing, sculpture and painting and has more than 40 group exhibitions in different places in Mexico and the United States, among which stand out: Permanent exhibition: Born, grows and remains, art in wood, Viveros de Coyoacán, in the year 2000 ; Fragile resistance, sculpture in ceramics, Luis Nishizawa Gallery, ENAP, 2001; Luis Nishizawa and his friends, Museo Olga Costa and José Chavez Morado, City of Guanajuato, 2002. Among 9000 butterflies, Leon Trotsky Museum in Mexico City; Crossing Borders, University Memorial Center Gallery in Colorado, E.U, 4 stations, Veracruz Centro Gallery. D.F, Anthropos. Principles of Freedom and Equality. Bank of Mexico, Carnival: The freedom of lust and pleasure and A cry for Peace. respectively, Banco de México, Mexico D.F, among others. As well as in the individual exhibitions: Reminiscences, main subway station Pino Suarez, Alternate Evocations, Faculty of Chemistry of the UNAM in 2014 and Alteridades Cultural Center DONCELES 66 in Mexico City in 2015, Metaphysics Animalia Traveling exhibition in various places of the Mexico City in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Etérea, Faculty of Chemistry, UNAM in 2018, Mutation of the Archetype, painting and drawing. Women in Art, Jorge Alberto Manrique Gallery, Celaya House of Culture, Guanajuato in 2019. She was Assistant of 1999 to the year 2008 of Master Luis Nishizawa with whom he taught several courses of painting and materials in places such as the National Center of the Arts, Mexico D. F. Mario Pani Cultural Center, Matamoros, Tamaulipas. The House of Culture Conrado Espinosa, Los Mochis, Sinaloa. The Gene Byron House Museum, Guanajuato City, Sinaloa College, Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mazatlan Art Museum, Sinaloa and the People's Museum, City of Guanajuato, among others. He has also taught more than 50 courses individually in multiple locations in Mexico and abroad. Collaborated with the magazine Vertigo in Illustration from 2013 to 2015 and has been selected at the 5th International Ceramic Biennial of Cairo, Egypt, received Honorable Mention in the drawing contest Homage to Juan García Ponce, Selected at the 5th anniversary of MFM de San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, Encouragement to timely graduation by Doctoral thesis in 2015, respectively, selected at the Visual Arts Biennial of the UNAM in 2016 and Prize third place in the 7th. University Art Biennial in 2018.
