Dr. Iván Ramírez Figueroa is a scholar and educator with a diverse academic background and extensive professional experience. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Administration and holds a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from EGADE Business School. He further honed his expertise in Global Strategy and Leadership at McGill University, where he was an exchange MBA student. Additionally, he earned his PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Toronto, specializing in Comparative, International, and Development Education (CIDE). Currently, he has plans to enroll in a Master's in Public Policy at the School of Government and Public Transformation of Tecnológico de Monterrey to acquire the knowledge and skills that would allow him to develop and implement educational projects and policies in collaboration with local and regional governments.
Dr. Ramírez has served in various positions within higher education institutions, including Coordinator of International Students, Coordinator of Student Affairs, Director of International Programs, Director of the Bachelor of Business Administration program, and Administrative Coordinator of Doctoral Programs and Research Projects. Currently, he is the Director of the Specialization in Management for Educational Leadership and Innovation. Moreover, he has performed different roles as lecturer, such as Teacher of English as a Second Language, Professor of Business and Administration, and now as a Professor of the School of Humanities and Education in which he specializes in courses of Research Methodology in Education, Comparative and International Education, and Educational Management and Leadership.
Thanks to his multifaceted career as an administrator and academic, Dr. Ramírez has demonstrated profound knowledge and skills in key areas such as financial and academic administration, leadership and management, academic research, and teaching. Furthermore, his scholarly and professional paths have enabled him to work at international settings, collaborate with multidisciplinary and multicultural groups and to expand his experience working with students across secondary, high school, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. All this rich journey has significantly contributed to his role at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he skillfully balances operational management, administrative strategy, academic leadership, and educational innovation.
Dr. Ramírez's personal interests include a passion for American Football (#GoSteelers), Ice Hockey (#GoPenguins), and Baseball (#GoPirates). He is an enthusiast of Rock, Blues, and Country music, and enjoys playing the electric bass, reflecting his interdisciplinary personality and diverse interests.
