Scheel-Mayenberger, Carlos

Overview

Carlos Scheel Mayenberger. Professor Emeritus, EGADE Business School, of the Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico. In the areas of: Technological Innovation, Circular Economy, Complexity, Systems Dynamics and Sustainable Innovation Systems. He developed the approach Compstrac©, and Compstrat© (1992) for clustering and assembling regional poles of innovation and technology for different industrial sectors; also, based on these approaches he created the framework for the incubation of multiple technology based entrepreneurships, applied on more than 20 projects in 11 countries. He is currently working (since 2007) on the framework SWIT: Sustainable Wealth creation based on Innovation and enabling Technologies; framework used for the formulation of sustainable strategies and policies for the creation of circular extended value systems, for developing regions; based on a ¿Disruptive, Systemic and Circular (DiSC)¿ innovation approach. Lastly he developed a procedure for the ¿Design of Circular Economy Business Models¿ to train and follow up circular economy entrepreneurs, for LAC countries¿ based on their conditions and capabilities. More than 15 projects have been developed using the SWIT framework in several regions, designing circular businesses and communities, to achieve self-supporting economies based on regional resources, as technological consultant of UNIDO, USAID, PNUD, UNEP, WB, IC2 (Innovation Creativity and Capital Institute) and IDB; He has been visiting professor and research scholar on more than 25 institutions of 14 countries. He is author of more than 60 papers and 14 books.
