Diego Grañena Puyó
Philologist, professor and Regional Development Head of the Schools of Humanities and Education, Social Sciences and Government and Architecture, Art and Design.
His curriculum displays a clear intention and fascination towards the humanities, culture, art, critical studies, as well as the respect for the dignity of humankind and the importance of the environment. Diego Grañena's concern in the study of languages as the fundamental aspect of culture, creative industries, modernism, postmodernism, posthumanism, culture of peace, intercultural phenomena and considerations of geographic, cultural, and linguistic diversity not only has enhanced his career as a professor but also allowed him to work in diverse cultural contexts such as Spain, United States and more recently Mexico.
Bachelor of Arts in English Philology by the University of Zaragoza, Spain and Bachelor of Arts in English Studies by the University of Portsmouth, England with the dissertation "Postmodernism: Journey of an eternal symbolic return in the era of emptiness". Master of Science in Information Science by Tecnológico de Monterrey, he also has a Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude by the Institute of Education Science at Zaragoza, Spain.
Representative of the Academic Council for the Monterrey International Book Fair, member of the National Committees of the School of Humanities and Education's Short Film Festival and Creative Industries, regional head of the Passion for Reading program and coordinator of the initiatives Cultural Heritage in Zacatecas and Social Innovation in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. He has participated in efforts such as the Education Innovation diploma, Voice of the Victims, the Digital Humanities Congress 2018, the World Social Forum on Migration in 2018, the humanist program The Usefulness of the Useless (2016-2018), as well as different academic experiences on science fiction, cult films, Surrealism and Dadaism (2015-2018).
