Hernández-Pérez, Jesús

Jesús Hernández-Pérez obtained a Bachelor degree in Biotechnology Engineering (Tecnológico de Monterrey, México) in 2012. Advised by Dr. Jorge Benavides and Guy A. Cardineau, Jesús obtained a Doctorate degree in Biotechnology (Tecnológico de Monterrey, México) in 2018 with a dissertation focused on the recovery, identification and bioactivity characterization of a novel protein found in the skin secretions of the canyon tree frog, Dryophytes arenicolor. During his PhD, Jesus did a research stay with Prof Patricia Conway and Prof Joergen Schlundt at NAFTEC in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Currently, Jesus is a Postdoctoral researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey in the Centro de Biotecnología FEMSA and he is part of the Bioprocess Research Group led by Dr. José González. His research interests include: - Development and design of drugs based on the discovery of bioactive molecules isolated from nature - Molecular mechanisms elucidation based on transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics - Heterologous expression of proteins and peptides and purification processes - Bioactivity engineering of peptides and proteins.
