de Alva-Levy, María

María de Alva (Monterrey N.L., 1969) has a BA in Spanish and Spanish American Literature from ITESM, 1990. She holds two master´s degrees, one in Latin American Studies with emphasis in Literature and History (UCLA, 1992) and one in Education with emphasis in Humanities (ITESM, 2000). Her PhD is in Humanistic Studies with emphasis in Literature (ITESM 2012). Her field of research is memory, autobiography, time and body. Her dissertation: Memoria y escritura del cuerpo was recently published as a book. She also has two published novels. She is currently head of the Spanish BA since 2015. She was Head of the Spanish Department in Prepa Eugenio Garza Sada from 1998 to 2008. She was leader of the Spanish Academic Program for all high schools at Tec. She worked in the Spanish curriculum coursework three times in high school and lead the curriculum coursework changes for the Spanish BA from 2017 to 2019.
